
Betty Jean Goodman, 81, of Evening Shade, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Batesville. She was born April 2, 1944, in Ash Flat to Tillman and Irene (Roberts) Bristow. She was a retired CNA at Sidney Nursing Home and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave City. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Goodman; granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Goodman; three brothers, Gordon “Hoss” Bristow, Leonard “Bill” Bristow, Jimmy Dale Bristow; two sisters, Minnie Estes and Bessie Sue Booth.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Goodman (Donna) of Cave City, Terry Goodman (Agate) of Booneville; one daughter, Brenda Duckett (Phil) of Melbourne; one brother, Junior Bristow (Naomi) of Cave City; two sisters, Derlene Rogers of Cave City, Donna Ables (John) of Cave City; five grandchildren, Sabrina Stone (Adam), Natasha King (Tony), Amber Hood, Miranda Cowgill (Casey), Demetria “Mimi” Goodman; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Maxville Cemetery with Wayne Goodman officiating.
Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Homes.
Visitation will be on October 16, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Cave City First Assembly, 437 N Main St. in Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Rogers, John Ables Jr., James Estes, Kevin Bristow, Willie Eversoll, Ethan Eversoll, and Bryon Bristow.
Honorary Pallbearers are Phil Duckett.
