George Stanley Page, 78, of Newport, passed from this life on October 11, 2025. He was born in Newport on August 10, 1947, to James Page and Geneva Chatman, and remained a proud resident of his hometown throughout his life.
Stanley was the owner and operator of Page Overhead Door Service, a business he built from the ground up and ran for many years with dedication and pride; he passed it on to his grandson, Esi, who has been trained to carry on his grandfather’s legacy and follow in his footprints. Known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and dependable service, Stanley earned the trust and respect of customers across the region. His hands-on approach and willingness to help anyone in need made him a fixture in the community.
Outside of work, George lived life to the fullest. He had a lifelong passion for dirt track racing and rarely missed a race. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors—whether it was hunting in the fall, casting a line in the spring, or just taking in the beauty of nature. His greatest joy, however, came from time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished every moment with them, and his face would light up whenever they were near.
George will be remembered as a hardworking man with a big heart, a deep love for his family, and a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion that will not be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathy Page; his son, Shane Page; his brothers, Ronnie Page and Melvin Page; his sister, and Johnnie Sue Page.
He is survived by his daughter, Kera Page Scudamore (Al) of Newport; his brother, Robert Page (Judy) of Newport, his grandchildren, Colton Guffey (Anna) of Jacksonport and Esi Guffey (Kaitlyn) of Jacksonport; his great grandchildren, Tinleigh Guffey, Tegan Guffey and Tad Guffey; his nephews, Shawn Page of Newport, Nicholas Page of Newport, and Brian Plummer of Newport; and his nieces, Shelley Bennett and Tonya Foster of Newport.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Esi Guffey, Colton Guffey, Keith Branscum, Brian Ritchie, Sid Wells, and Joey Fortenberry. Honorary pallbearers are Dannie Hodge, Tad Guffey, Garland Shofer, Shawn Page, and Eddie Watkins; his business associates, Scott Foushee, Dennis Bullard, Jackie Henard, Robert Pratt, and Brian Chastain.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
