
Betty Louise (Batson) Tucker, 90, of Newport, passed from this life on October 19, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1935, in Newport, Arkansas, to Ruby (Brownlow) Shaw.
A lifelong resident of Newport, Betty was known for her strong faith and loving heart. She was a member of the Holden Avenue Church of Christ, where she found strength and purpose throughout her life. Betty had a giving spirit and a deep love for animals, often rescuing them and giving them a safe and caring home.
She was passionate about cooking and could often be found in the kitchen preparing meals for her loved ones. Her food brought comfort and joy to many family gatherings. Above all, Betty loved caring for her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. In quieter moments, she enjoyed watching classic episodes of Gunsmoke, her favorite television show.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Lanny Heath; and her grandson, Eric Heath.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Richardson (Bruce) of Newport; her granddaughter, Misty Heath of Oil Trough; and her great-grandchildren, Josh Heath and Stevie Ann Heath, both of Banner, Mississippi, Zach Groves (Rachel) and Ethan Patterson (Chloe), both of Batesville.
Betty’s legacy of love, compassion, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Zach Groves, Jeff McBride, Bruce Richardson, Bobby Carroll, and Jamie Goins. Honorary pallbearers are the former Newport Kroger employees.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jody Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2025. Interment will be at Maple Springs Cemetery.
