
Bonnie (Taylor) Daniels departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born December 23, 1938, in Newport, Arkansas, the daughter of Surcey and Ester Mae (Freeman) Taylor.
Affectingly known as Mrs. Bonnie, she was a dedicated employee of Newport Schools for over 50 years, where she loved and was loved by all the students and staff. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, decorating for Christmas, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She was a long time member of the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Daniels; one daughter, Dana Kay Daniels Alcorn; one brother, Jesse Lee Taylor; one sister, Lula Faye Taylor; one daughter in law, D.J. Daniels; and her parents.
Mrs. Daniels is survived by four sons, Ricky Daniels, of Newport, Benny Daniels of Newport, Ray Daniels and wife, Angie, of Newport, and Eric Daniels and wife, Crystal, of Newport; one daughter, Sandy Brooks and husband, William, of Newport; two brothers, Donnie Taylor and wife, Sue Ellen, of Newport, and J. B. Taylor and wife, Sandra, of Jacksonport; three sisters, Sue Durham and husband, Dave, of Searcy, Laura Mae Latner of Mississippi, and Bobbie Jean Derrick of Missouri; eight grandchildren, Chad Brooks and wife, Angie, of Greers Ferry, Michael Lee Arnold of Mississippi, Aaron Newman and wife, Emily, of Newport, Ashtin Wallace and husband, Clint, of Grubbs, April Wheat and husband, William, of Mississippi, Derek Alcorn of Texas, Madison Daniels of Newport, and Aubrey Daniels of Newport; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit Jackson’s Funeral Home, Monday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Cheshier Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Ray Daniels, Aaron Newman, Eric Daniels, D. J. Armstrong, Harold Barnhill, and Chance Daniels. Honorary pallbearers will be Newport Special School District past and present employees, Patrick McGee, and Derek Alcorn.
