
Douglas Troy Engle, 81, of West Plains, MO, was welcomed into his eternal home on October 29, 2025. Douglas was born on February 24, 1944, the third son of Woodrow and Myrtle (Price) Engle. Douglas spent most of his life as a carpenter. He built many houses in Cherokee Village and was responsible for the remodeling and additions to several area churches. He enjoyed golf, traveling, and reading. He was a member of Sidney Baptist Church.
Douglas was welcomed home by his wife, Linda (Hightower) Engle; his parents; his brothers, Lloyd and Lee Engle; his sister, Freda Pierson; and his brothers-in-law, Drexel Pierson, Vaughn Pierson, and his nephew, David Pierson.
He leaves behind one daughter, Beth Hames (Lance) of Melbourne; grandchildren, Cameron Hames (Taryn) of Melbourne, Carlie Qualls (Caleb) of Cave City; four great-grandchildren, Madelyn Hames, Hudson Hames, Cooper Qualls, Clark Qualls; one sister, Beth Pierson of Mountain Home; one sister-in-law, Leta Engle of Cave City; brother-in-law, Butch Hightower; five nieces, Kim Engle of Sidney, Maleta Manuel (Danny) of Cave City, Karen Walton (Lee) of Bethesda, Patty Pierson of Cabot, Delandra Cuce (Jason) of Centerton, and many other family and friends.
Funeral service will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave City First Assembly with Bro. Bobby Sanders is officiating. Burial will be in Yeager Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the church.
