
Maxine Myrtle Butler, 88, of Batesville, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Batesville. She was born February 27, 1937, at Calamine to B.F. and Willie Myrtle (Tompkins) Butler. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Batesville and was known for sharing joy with others. Maxine loved being around people, singing, dancing, traveling, riding carnival rides and doing artwork.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kimbrew Butler; sister-in-law, Fredia James Butler; one nephew, Wayne Gifford; one niece, Beverly Travis; and one great-niece, Dawn Travis.
Survivors include one sister, Olene Batey; four nieces, Rebecca Taylor, Linda Gifford, Sabrina Sneller (Russell), Renee Batey; one nephew, Gary Batey (Marlene) along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Batesville with Bro. Stacy Reed and Bro. Gene Tulberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery at Cave City.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church, Batesville.
