
Bobby Hutchinson, age 88, of Newport, passed peacefully from this life on November 18, 2025. Bobby was born in Newport on October 18, 1937, to Hazel (Fletcher) Coleman.
Bobby was a cherished member of the Newport community, known for his warmth, kindness, and steadfast spirit. He found great joy in working, raising cows and hogs, and riding horses—pursuits that reflected his love for the land and a life well-lived. Throughout his long life, he touched many with his generosity and gentle humor, and was always happiest when surrounded by friends, family, and his favorite dog, Butch. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Hazel Coleman; his sisters, Phyllis Camp, Billie Cordell, and Geraldine Willhite; and his beloved wife of 53 years, Shirley Hutchinson.
He is survived by his son, Jody Hutchinson; his daughters, Debbie Heck (Dan) of Newport and Becky Burnside (Thomas) of Newport; his grandchildren, Candace Carroll (Shane) of Thida, Kimberly Lamberth (Jeremy) of Thida, T.J. Burnside (Casey) of Olyphant, Colton Burnside (Jennie) of Newport, Bo Hutchinson (Morgan) of Tuckerman, Grace Sutterfield (Chance) of Newport, and Noah Hutchinson of Cabot; his great-grandchildren, Dakota Christopher, Naomi Christopher, Drake Patrick, Peyton Patrick, Allison Smith, Hunter Burnside, Avery Burnside, Anna James Burnside, Sophia Hutchinson, Blize Hutchinson, Ella Sutterfield, and Rhett Sutterfield; as well as a lifetime of friends.
His legacy lives on in the memories shared by those whose lives he enriched. Bobby’s presence will be deeply missed, but his influence and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Doyle, Nick Doyle, Justin Doyle, Darren Hutchinson, Bubba Hutchinson, and John Hutchinson. Honorary pallbearers are Gregory Smith, T.J. Burnside, Colton Burnside, Bo Hutchinson, Noah Hutchinson, and John Conner Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025. The service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Watson Cemetery.
