Obituary: James “Jimmy” Barton Wilson

James “Jimmy” Barton Wilson, 95, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 20, 1930, in Batesville to the late Albert and Lorena “Weaver” Wilson, and he remained a lifelong resident of the community he cherished. Jimmy proudly served with the Arkansas National Guard and later retired from his service. Throughout his life, he also owned and operated several businesses, reflecting his strong work ethic and commitment to his community.

Jimmy enjoyed a full and active life. He loved hunting, fishing, and farming, and he found great joy in the outdoors. Time spent on the water brought him tremendous happiness—boating and skiing were among his favorite pastimes.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorene Wilson; two sisters, Verna Mac Hurt and Yvonne Turner; his brother, Pete Wilson; and his parents, Albert and Lorena Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Pat Moser (Gary) and Teresa Young; his son, James Wilson (Bobbie); four grandchildren, Jeremy Moser (Jessica), Michelle Crouse (Lynn), David Young (Tracy), and Tracy Porter (Keith); eight great-great-grandchildren, Bella Moser, Scarlett Moser, Karlie Huskey (Kaleb), Katie Pollard, Samara Crouse, Miriam Crouse, Josephine Crouse, and Lauren Williams; and his sister, Carolyn McCarty. He will also be remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Willis Funeral Home Service Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, officiated by James A. Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Moser, Gary Moser, Kaleb Huskey, Keith Porter, Joey Richardson, and David Young.

Honorary pallbearers are Wood-Lawn Heights Nursing Home, Legacy Hospice, and the Arkansas National Guard.

Jimmy’s love, strength, and kindness leave a lasting imprint. His love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
