
A 77-year-old woman died, and two others were injured Wednesday evening in a head-on collision on State Highway 367 in Jackson County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred at about 5:31 p.m. on Dec. 31 when a 2012 Chevrolet crossed the center turn lane and struck a southbound 2007 Nissan, State Police said in a preliminary fatal crash summary. The driver of the Chevrolet, Shirley Hudson of Cash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nissan’s driver, 45-year-old Santos Reyes Gonzales of Newport, and passenger, 47-year-old Isabela Reyes Gonzales, also of Newport, were injured and taken to Unity Health and UAMS for treatment, the summary said.
State Police troopers listed weather conditions as clear and road conditions as dry at the time of the crash.
