Steve Cornelius “Nick” Adcox, age 95, of Tuckerman, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. He was born in Pond Switch on August 30, 1930, to Helen and Clarence Adcox and was a lifelong member of the Tuckerman community.

Nick graduated from Tuckerman High School in 1947 and began a long and dedicated career in local banking and service. He worked at the Bank of Tuckerman from 1949 until his retirement in 1990, followed by employment as the branch manager at Union Planters Bank from 1990 to 1994. Nick began at Tuckerman City Drug Store as a soda jerk at the age of 16, then transitioned to the duties of a pharmacy clerk while continuing to work until 2007 with his good friend Paul Clayton.

Nick served in the United States Army, but due to severe arthritis, he was medically discharged after less than a year of service.

Nick is survived by Ricky Simons, with whom he shared a special and meaningful friendship. He was predeceased by his siblings, Martha Irene Hagar and Benny Joe Adcox. Nick found great joy in simple pleasures. He loved playing bingo and playing cards with friends—especially his favorite games, Phase 10 and Tonk. He was a devoted member of Tuckerman United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for as long as he was able. Nick enjoyed reading, particularly novels by John Grisham. He also loved gardening and raising chickens, pheasants, and guineas. An avid Razorback fan who often wore an Arkansas Razorback cap, Nick was excited about Coach Cal and the Razorbacks’ big win on Saturday.

Nick adored his two dogs, Sugar and Precious. They were his constant companions and truly his world.
