
Omega (Jackson) Williams of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 69. She was born January 5, 1957, in Newport, the daughter of Roy and Pauline (Stephens) Jackson.
Omega served as the District Court Clerk for the City of Newport until her retirement in 2012. In addition to her role at District Court, she held an Accounting Certificate and a Real Estate License.
Known for her calm demeanor and level-headedness, Omega was a great friend to many. She enjoyed riding along backroads and having backyard bonfires. Omega loved listening to music and spending time with her family. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren immensely.
Omega was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Pauline Jackson; two brothers, Jimmy Clemons and Bobby Clemons; and one sister, Sheila White.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Williams of Diaz; her children, Melanie O’Banion and husband, Shane, of Newport, Ashley Stevens and husband, Timmy, of Diaz, and Cody Wilmans of Newport; four grandchildren, Amanda Mitts and husband, Payton, Erin Bright and husband, Jordan, Shae Pruitt and husband, Oshae, and Walker Stevens; five great-grandchildren, Josie Mitts, Luke Mitts, Brooks Bright, Liam Pruitt, and Noah Pruitt; two sisters, Linda Sue Frost and Bonnie Clemons; her nieces and nephews, Mary Roberson, Jeanne Long and husband, Greg, John Clemons and wife, Jamie, and Jerry White and Andrea; a special niece and caregiver, Megan Hewitt; many other family and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
