David Fox
A veteran health care executive with clinical experience and decades of leadership has taken the helm at Stone County Medical Center.
White River Health announced that David Fox started last week as vice president and administrator of the Mountain View hospital. Fox most recently served as executive vice president of hospital operations at Summit Management Group.
Fox holds a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma City University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
He completed clinical training at the Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine and is a certified nuclear medicine technologist. He has worked in both laboratory and radiology settings.
He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a fellow of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators. Fox serves on the ACHE board and is a member of the Arkansas Hospital Association.
“Mr. Fox’s years of experience in health care leadership will build upon the strong foundation in place at SCMC,” said Steven Webb, president and CEO of White River Health. “He also brings a strong commitment to patient care and community, and we are excited to see how he will use his skills to contribute to SCMC and the region.”
Kathy Thomas, the outgoing administrator, will retire in December. During the transition, Thomas will continue supporting hospital leadership and remain in her role as chief safety officer.
“We are thankful for Kathy’s years of service and leadership at SCMC,” Webb said.
White River Health is an independent, nonprofit health care system serving residents throughout north-central Arkansas. The system includes White River Medical Center in Batesville, Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, outpatient facilities, and physician practices.
