
Billy Joe Norris, of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on May 24, 1947, in Scottsboro, Alabama, the son of Earnest “Sneed” and Lucy (Cox) Norris.
Mr. Norris attended Weiner High School and went on to serve with honor as a member of the Arkansas National Guard. He spent his working years farming and driving truck for many farms throughout the area. He was a hard worker who took pride in his work and in helping others. Mr. Norris was a member of the Weiner First Christian Church.
Mr. Norris was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. He loved spending time on the lake with his family. He also enjoyed watching old wrestling in his free time.
Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Elwanda Jean Norris; a daughter, Joanna Ruth Norris; his brothers, Walter B. “Pete” Norris, Buddy Norris, Marvin Norris, John Norris, Bobby Norris, and Ralph Norris; his sisters, Marie Tidwell, Martha James, Virginia Mae Adamson, and Dorothy Rorex Thorn; and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Eva Norris Henriksen and husband, Jamie, of Sulphur Rock; three grandchildren, Kelby Norris Matthews and husband, James, of Campbell Station, Luke Henriksen of Mountain View, and Carrie Wilson and husband, Tyler, of Rogers; four great-grandchildren, Nolan Wilson, Savannah Wilson, Rhys Wilson, and Bentley Matthews; his special friend, Lacretia Cooper, of Jonesboro; a host of nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Norris will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Mrs. Pam Hogue officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time.
