Obituary:  Nina Fay Cornwell

Nina Fay Cornwell, of Brookland, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born September 7, 1938, in Greene County, the daughter of Sidney and Lena.

Mrs. Cornwell was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband, W.L., at Cornwell Farms. She was of the Baptist belief.

Mrs. Cornwell enjoyed tending to her garden, canning, and quilting. She was a wonderful cook and was known to make the best chocolate gravy and fried chicken. She also loved watching Gunsmoke and listening to country and gospel music.

Mrs. Cornwell was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee “W.L.”; one son, Clay; a daughter, Judy; two brothers, Carl and Lewis; three sisters, Imogene, Betty, and her twin, Nona; and her parents, Sidney and Lena.

She is survived by her son, Doug (Wendy), of Tavares, Florida; two daughters, Jeannette (Doyne), of Cordova, Tennessee, and Nanci, of Brookland; her sisters, Carol (J.L.) of Caraway, and Trisha (Verlin) of Lake City; three grandchildren, Eric (Erika) of Somerville, Tennessee, Amberley of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Jake (Chloe) of Brookland; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Gabriel, Copeland, Ramsey, Noble, and Sophia; a host of nieces and nephews; and some very special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Stan Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery at Johnstown. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the service.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Doug, Jake, Doyne, David N., Wayne, Jeff, and David M. Honorary pallbearers are Noble and Gabriel.
