Arkansans spent more than $291.1 million on medical marijuana in 2025, setting a new annual sales record and signaling a rebound for the industry after a decline the previous year, state officials said.

Figures released by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration show sales rose by about $15 million from 2024, when patients spent $275.9 million. The total surpassed the previous record of $283 million set in 2023.

Dispensaries across the state sold 79,223 pounds of medical marijuana during the year, up from 75,598 pounds in 2024.

“More than $1.6 billion has been spent at the state’s dispensaries since the industry launched in 2019,” said Scott Hardin, a spokesperson for the department. “The industry certainly rebounded in 2025 with a new sales record, following a decrease in sales the previous year.”

Medical marijuana purchases generated $32.3 million in state revenue in 2025 through two taxes: a 6.5% state sales tax and a 4% privilege tax that applies to dispensary purchases and cultivator sales to dispensaries.

The Arkansas Department of Health reported 115,113 active medical marijuana patient cards statewide.

In north-central and northeast Arkansas, several dispensaries posted steady sales during the final two months of the year. Fiddler’s Green sold 103.63 pounds in November and 117.28 pounds in December. Plant Family Therapeutics reported sales of 133.52 pounds in November and 143.50 pounds in December.

BOLD Dispensary sold 218.51 pounds in November and 226.71 pounds in December, while Spring River Dispensary reported 99.86 pounds sold in November and 99.88 pounds in December.

Statewide, patients spent $24.5 million in November and $25.7 million in December, purchasing a combined 13,698 pounds of medical marijuana during the two-month period.
