With an eye on growth and long-term student success, Batesville School District leaders are inviting the community to help shape the future of local schools through a new, districtwide strategic planning effort.

Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald said the effort is designed to serve as a long-term roadmap and will rely heavily on input from those the district serves.

“As our community continues to grow, we recognize the need for a strategic plan that serves as a roadmap for the district,” McDonald said. “To do this well, it’s essential that those we serve are heard.”

The process will begin with community engagement and a needs assessment, followed by a series of meetings and workshops scheduled for the spring. Students, parents, staff, and community members will help shape priorities related to enrollment, learning, transitions, and opportunities across the district.

The district will gather feedback through focus groups and two community summits on Feb. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m., at the Batesville Performing Arts Center, 1 Pioneer Drive. Both sessions will cover the same information and are open to the public.

After input is collected and analyzed, district leaders plan to present a full strategic planning report to the Batesville School District Board of Directors for review and approval in late April.
