Lindsey Duane Harness, 92, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 4, 1936, in Shirley, Arkansas, to Auzzie and Effie Gladys (Bonds) Harness.
Lindsey was a devoted Christian. On February 5, 1955, he married the love of his life, Loreva Williams. Together, they attended Southern Baptist University for two years. While still in school, Lindsey began his career at a young age, driving a school bus and working in the logging woods alongside his father. He later worked for CIT before moving to Mountain View, where he purchased Thriftway Grocery with a partner. He then went to work for Glen Hinkle hauling feed, followed by a long career with the Mountain View Telephone Company, where he worked until his retirement.
Lindsey was a hard worker who loved farming. He bought, cleaned up, and sold many farms before moving on to the next. He especially enjoyed operating his dozer, tractor, and lawn mower, spending countless hours outdoors. He also loved riding his dogs around on the four-wheeler and attending his grandchildren’s ballgames whenever he could.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loreva Harness; his parents; two sisters; and his grandson, Christopher Kyle Heflin.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Deborah Lynn (Chris) Heflin and John Neal (Stacy) Harness Sr.; his grandchildren, John Harness Jr., Holly (Jody) Garigus, Ashley (Gary) Flowers, Tanner (Brandis) Harness, Courtney Heflin, Chase (McKayla) Harness, and Patricia (Ty) Lacey. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
