On Saturday, February 21, 2026, William Henry ‶Sonny″ McIntosh passed quietly at his home; he was 86 years old. Sonny McIntosh was born February 4, 1940, to John William ‶Bill″ McIntosh and Alice Lucille (Geno) McIntosh.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Wayne McIntosh, his parents, a sister, Pearlie Faye Easter, and three brothers: Bobby Gene White, Richard Harold McIntosh and Phil Gordon McIntosh.

Left behind to cherish Sonny is his very best friend, his loving wife, Jewell.

If you saw Sonny, you saw Jewell right behind him. They were fiercely devoted to one another and clearly even more in love. The three people who had the opportunity to love Sonny the longest are his two brothers: Larry Jr McIntosh of Harrisburg. Arkansas and Hershell McIntosh of Weatherford, Texas and his sister, Kathy Prestidge of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Sonny had many lifetimes’ worth of experiences to be proud of. He proudly served his country for ten and one-half years in the United States Army and he was also a loyal member of his local Masonic Lodge, where again he found a brotherhood. Sonny was proud to serve his community on the city council, but the thing he was proudest of was his family.

He has also left three children. Sonny’s two beloved daughters are: Brenda McIntosh Carter (Doug) of Lepanto, Arkansas and Barbara Joe McIntosh Coody (Rodney) of Gadsden, Alabama. Sonny’s oldest son, William ‶Ricky″ McIntosh (Crystal), lives in Harrisburg, Arkansas.

Sonny’s other favorite thing to do was to build things in his shop. He was looking forward to Spring. It was the same with his children; he worked equally as hard building them. He taught them how to build their own families. He led with love, a sharp wit, and a dedication to see life through, no matter how tall the mountain was that you had to climb. Sonny was our favorite artist, but if you asked him what his favorite creations are, he would have answered: ‶My grandchildren.″ He reminded everyone of the fact every chance he got. If you asked Jewell or his kids what would be Sonny’s favorite list of names in our declaration of his life, they would tell you it was this one: Ashley Edgil and Daniel Sharp, Chris Carter (Taylor), Dylan McIntosh, Hayden McIntosh, Macey McIntosh, Elijah Howell and Will Howell. He had four Great-Grandchildren: Addillynn, Hunter, Allie, and Payton. Sonny left a multitude of loved ones, made up of family and friends. He gave everything he had from the beginning to the end, and each of us is better because we knew him.

A Private Ceremony will be held on Friday at Sonny and Jewell’s home.

The family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
