Obituary: Mary Lee (Whiteside) Ferrell

Mary Lee (Whiteside) Ferrell, 93, of Sulphur Rock, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at her home in Sulphur Rock. She was born on November 5, 1932, in Hollister, Missouri, to Jesse Elmo Whiteside and Bertie Lee (Blakly) Whiteside.

Mary devoted her life to her family, bringing joy and warmth to every gathering. She found happiness in shopping and cherished every moment spent with those she loved. Her generous spirit and kind heart touched all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the lives of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jules Edward Ferrell; her daughters, Brenda Huskey, Mary Looney, and Patty Looney; her grandsons, Scotty Looney and Michael Alexander; her granddaughter, Amy Beard; her sisters, Faye Burton and Maxine Teague; and her infant brother, Ray Whiteside.

Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Rita Killet (Wendell) of Sulphur Rock and Dianne Long Greer of Batesville; her cherished grandchildren, Chad Long (Jennifer) of Cave City, Tommy Jones (Stephanie) of Jonesboro, Becky Hufstedler (Kevin) of Jonesboro, and Kim Fransisco of Maumelle; her great grandchildren, Eli Long of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Lauren Alexander of Jonesboro, Dylan Hufstedler of Jonesboro, Jackson Hufstedler of Jonesboro, Maddie Jones of Jonesboro, Macie Jones of Jonesboro, Landon Jones of Jonesboro, Emily Beard of Dallas, Texas, Dawn Long of Cave City, Kraven Long of Cave City, and Jackson Long of Cave City. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her dearly.

Mary’s unwavering faith and devotion to her family will be remembered always. Her gentle presence, love, and laughter will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

There are no services scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mary’s honor to a charity of your choice.
