Obituary: Edwin Dale West

Edwin Dale West was born on July 7th, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Kansas. He passed from this life on February 24th, 2026, in his home.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Anne West, and his father, Arthur West.

Dale is survived by his 4 children, Autumn West and Josh Luster, Austyn (Trina) West, Jade (Tyler) Christopherson, & Amber (Austin) Kennon. His grandchildren are Addison Kennon, Ava Kennon, Archer Kennon, Kaleb Tyrone, Aubrey Anne Kennon, Finley West, Zoey Luster, Lucas West, and Violet Luster. Sister Kathy Howdeshell and a brother, Mike West.

Dale grew up in his father’s science lab, later serving his country as an Air Force medic in the 48th Fighter Wing, including service in Vietnam. He used his GI bill to study horticulture in college. He loved growing and propagating plants and trees.

He was a published author and a talented artist, best known for creating the illustrated maps of Mountain View, which can be seen around town. His father, Art, owned the Signal Hill music store and The Rainbow Cafe for many years, where Dale worked. He could play any instrument you handed him by ear.

He was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to cover his final resting expenses at Centennial Bank for Dale West ℅ Amber Kennon.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
