A 22-year-old Bradford man remains in custody following his arrest on Tuesday after he allegedly brandished a handgun and threatened employees at a local McDonald’s.
Payton Xavier Sepulveda faces two counts of felony aggravated assault. According to a probable cause affidavit, Independence County authorities responded to the restaurant after receiving reports of an intoxicated male waving a pistol.
The affidavit details two separate encounters involving Sepulveda. One man reported that Sepulveda approached him in the parking lot, claimed he was drunk, and began loading a handgun while making disparaging remarks about employees inside the restaurant.
A second victim, a McDonald’s employee, told police that Sepulveda approached him outside, lifted his shirt to reveal a pistol in his waistband, and told him to “watch out.” When the employee retreated into the restaurant, Sepulveda allegedly followed him inside and approached him again, eventually offering him a “job” selling drugs.
Responding officers noted a strong odor of intoxicants on Sepulveda’s breath before recovering a firearm tucked into his waistband.
Sepulveda was transported to the Independence County Jail, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 3.
