Representatives from Bad Boy Mowers were onhand Wednesday to present the Batesville Police Department and Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh with funding for new defibrillators and updated Taser equipment.

The Batesville Police Department is upgrading its life-saving capabilities and non-lethal arsenal thanks to a new round of funding from Bad Boy Mowers.

On Wednesday, the Batesville-based manufacturer announced a donation to the department to fund the purchase of new automated external defibrillators and updated Taser equipment for its officers. This latest contribution follows a previous donation from the company that helped supply bulletproof vests to the department’s men and women in uniform.

The funding will allow the department to equip patrol vehicles with AEDs and provide officers with modern Taser devices designed to enhance both officer safety and community protection, the department said in a release.

“At Bad Boy, we believe in standing behind our local community,” said Robert McIntire, chief financial officer at Bad Boy Inc. “Supporting our local police department is a privilege.

AEDs are critical tools that enable first responders to deliver immediate care during cardiac emergencies, dramatically increasing survival rates when used quickly. Because officers often arrive on scene before emergency medical services, having accessible AEDs in patrol vehicles can make the difference between life and death.

John Scarbrough, chief of the Batesville Police Department, expressed gratitude for the continued partnership.

“Bad Boy Mowers has once again stepped up in a meaningful way for our department and our community,” Scarbrough said. “Their previous donation ensured our officers had modern protective vests, and now this generous contribution allows us to further enhance both public and officer safety. We are incredibly thankful for their commitment to those who serve.

The donation reflects Bad Boy Mowers’ ongoing dedication to supporting first responders and investing in initiatives that promote safety and well-being, company officials said in the release.
