A Shirley man faces multiple felony charges, including a child pornography count, following a sex-offender compliance check at his home last month, according to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.
Allen K. Godfrey, 27, was arrested on Feb. 24 after deputies and investigators conducted a search at his residence on Highway 263. Authorities said the check revealed several unregistered electronic devices, including cellphones, a computer, and a gaming system.
In records filed last week in Stone County Circuit Court, investigators reported that the devices contained applications commonly used to communicate with children. During the digital forensic analysis, authorities said they located a photo involving a minor, resulting in an additional child-pornography-related charge.
The search of the home also yielded two firearms, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office. Godfrey is legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions.
Godfrey faces several felony counts and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 12.
