Eddie Wright Ranew Jr., 87, of Cave City, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Cave City. He was born July 27, 1938, in Trenton, Florida, to Eddie and Bessie Ranew. He was an environmental engineer and a carpenter. He was a member of the White Drive Baptist Church. Eddie enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed hunting fossils and arrowheads, spending time with his beloved family and going to church. Eddie’s number one goal was teaching people to give them a brighter future in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Ranew; his son, Darren Ranew (Karen); his daughter, Carrie Hipp (David); five grandchildren, Matthew Hipp, Aaron Ranew, Alannah Hays, Micah Ranew and Emaly Ranew; six great-grandchildren, Caitlynn Hipp, Westin Hipp, Caylee Hipp, Cassie Hipp, Adelyn Hays and Paisley Hays; along with other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Chapel on the campus of Lyon College.
