Obituary: Peggy Carson “McSpadden” Kelley

Peggy Carson “McSpadden” Kelley, 73, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, at Batesville. She was born August 28, 1952, in Batesville to Otha and Catherine McSpadden. She attended and faithfully served Central Avenue Methodist Church at the beginning of her life, and at the end of her life, when she and her loving husband, Bruce, retired from a career of service in the United States Air Force. She was the best officer’s wife, friend, mom and granny. She loved church, singing, playing guitar, fishing, working in the yard and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Benjamin Kelley; father-in-law, Ben Kelley; mother-in-law, Mary Kelley; and one brother-in-law, John Kelley.

Those left mourning her loss are her husband of 50 years, Bruce Kelley; her children, Bruce T. Kelley Jr. (Heather) and Mary Catherine Farrier (Aaron); her brother, Walter McSpadden; her sisters, Kay Martin and Janis Walmsley; her grandchildren, Carson and Jackson Farrier and Sarah and Ethan Kelley; her nieces, Chandra Gresham, Katrina Pennington, Katie Renner, Lizzie McSpadden and Renee Archer; her nephews, B.T Kelley, John Mark Kelley, Doug Martin, Andy Walmsley, David Walmsley, Sam McSpadden and Will McSpadden; her special friends, Christy Sayler and The Secret Sisterhood of the Trout; her honorary grandsons, Deo Ross, Gabriel Carmona, Jared Carmona, Cole Bentz, Ransom Dunlap and Landon Buie; along with other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Avenue United Methodist Church with Pastor Jesse James, Pastor Paul Seay and Cale McGillvray officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Avenue United Methodist Church.

The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and Staff at White River Health of Batesville for their excellent care.
