
Jerry Lee Fortune, age 74, passed away on April 13, 2026. He was born on July 28, 1951, in Newport, Arkansas, to the late Edward Franklin Fortune and Nellie B. (Henson) Fortune.
Jerry was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years as a heavy equipment operator with Arkansas Steel. He was known for his strong work ethic and his love for staying busy.
In his free time, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved gardening, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed watching westerns and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Sable. More than anything, Jerry treasured the time spent with his family, including his daughter, Amanda, and his special friend, James Tharp.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Dawn (Goff) Fortune; his parents, Edward Franklin Fortune and Nellie B. (Henson) Fortune; his son, David Lee Fortune; his brother, Steve Fortune; and his sisters, Linda Fortune and Carla Smart.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Daniel Lee Fortune; his daughter, Amanda (Gary Dean) George; his daughter-in-law, LaDonna Martinez; his sisters, Shirley Kreig and Wilma Jean Haney; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, along with a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willis Funeral Chapel. Special words and prayer will be given by David Burgess.
