Alex A. Dupree, 30, a father, son, brother, and friend, left us April 18, 2026, in Batesville, Arkansas. Alex’s spirit, warmth, and laughter will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Alex was born May 5, 1995, in Newport, Arkansas, to Mark and Joan Dupree. Alex was the proud father of Gwendolyn and Alexander Dupree. Alex deeply cared for his family and friends and made sure that each moment together was filled with love, laughter, and memories to treasure forever.
Alex was passionate about many things, but his love for sports was something that defined him. Whether it was the thrill of basketball, football, baseball, or the excitement of WWE, Alex’s enthusiasm was contagious, and he loved video games that were based on the things he watched or loved. Music was another great love in Alex’s life, and his appreciation spanned all genres. From the soulful rhythms to the fast beats to heavy metal, they reflected his open-minded spirit. Whether playing tunes on a road trip or relaxing at home, Alex knew how to create the perfect atmosphere for those around him. Alex had a unique gift for making life feel special. His love for comedy and his sense of humor lit up every room he entered. He was the friend you could count on for a good laugh, the one who would turn a regular day into a memorable moment with just a joke or a funny story. He believed in the power of joy and didn’t let a single day pass without embracing it.
Alex’s adventurous spirit knew no bounds. Whether he was taking a spontaneous road trip or exploring the beauty of nature, Alex was always seeking new experiences and making every moment count. He loved the small things — the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, the warmth of the sun, the feeling of the wind in his hair — and he reminded us all to do the same.
Above all, Alex lived each day to the fullest. He took life breath by breath, without dwelling on what the future might bring. He taught us to savor the present, to be kind and to approach every day with gratitude and love. His caring nature, his generous heart, and his zest for life will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Louise Plunk; his step-grandfather, Conley Varner; and his cousin, Bryan Osburn.
Alex is survived by his children, Gwendolyn and Alexander Dupree; his parents, Joan and Mark Dupree; his sister, Jennifer Long; his niece, Mary Long; his grandparents, Kenneth and Phyllis Coats and Phyllis Varner; his cousin, Kimberly McKay; and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of laughter, love, and living fully will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with words by Bro. Brian Comby.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Spotts Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, with Bro. Phillip Lewallen officiating.
In his honor, let us all remember to cherish the small moments, laugh as often as we can, and live each day with the same energy and joy that Alex did. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
