A Sage man has been charged with five felony counts — including three counts of second-degree sexual assault — following a months-long investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police.

Brandon Vincent Lara, 42, faces charges of second-degree sexual assault, sexual indecency with a child, and sexually grooming a child, all stemming from alleged offenses involving two juvenile victims in Izard and other Arkansas counties.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the alleged abuse April 8, 2026, and subsequently requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division and the agency’s Crimes Against Children Division.

According to a probable cause affidavit, State Police Special Agent Tyler Webb conducted interviews with both victims in April and June 2026. Investigators also conducted a post-Miranda interview with Lara on June 11, during which he allegedly made statements acknowledging inappropriate conduct with the victims.

On the same date, Izard County investigators obtained and executed a search warrant at Lara’s residence, where agents reportedly seized multiple items of evidence for forensic analysis.

Lara has been charged under Arkansas state statutes governing second-degree sexual assault, sexual indecency with a child, and the sexual grooming of a child. Second-degree sexual assault is a Class B felony in Arkansas, while the indecency and grooming charges are Class D felonies.

Bond has been set at $250,000.
