Carroll Edward Wells, 83, of Romance, Arkansas, passed away on June 16, 2026.
He was born September 22, 1942, in Rio Vista, Arkansas, to the late Walter Alton and Esta “Sis” Wells. After 41 years with Union Pacific Railroad, Carroll retired to the farm he loved.
Carroll was a hardworking man who rarely sat still. Before retirement, he often worked more than one job at a time. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tractor pulls, and trips to Branson. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh.
He found happiness in the simple things—riding his Ranger, checking cattle, and feeding fish at the pond.
Carroll loved his family and held a special place in his heart for them all. He never forgot a birthday and rarely missed sending a card. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike.
Carroll is survived by his wife, Ima Gene Wells; his children, Denise Wells, Chris Wells (Jan), Chad Wells (Cindy), Catie Wells, Rebecca Wells, Matthew Sutton (Melissa) and Aaron Sutton; his grandchildren, Tyler Wells, Marion Henry (Matt), Colby Wells (Jaymie), Reagan Wells, Hunter Wells, Quinton Marks, Graham Sutton, Ameslee Sutton, and Hartlee Ball; his great-grandchildren, Bearett Wells, Avery Wells, Camden Wells, Harlow Wells, Kodi Wolfe, and Noah Wolfe; his sister, Linda Harbour (Calvin); and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathy Wells; his brother, Harold Wells; and his sisters, Frances Walker, Katherine McKee, and Lola Blanton.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, at Mt. Hebron Church in Joy, Arkansas, at 1pm.
