Cowboys and cowgirls packed the Batesville Rodeo Arena this weekend, with 313 total entries competing across two nights of rodeo action, according to the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Friday’s rodeo featured 160 individual and team entries across 11 events, while Saturday brought another 153 entries, the chamber said.
Both nights drew large crowds, with full parking lots and packed bleachers at the arena. Scorched Flow Arts opened each night’s performance with fire-themed routines, and Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery sponsored a money drop for kids. And professional rodeo clown Reggie Purvis entertained the audiences.
The rodeo was produced by CK Rodeo and sanctioned by the Arkansas Cowboy Association, the Arkansas Rodeo Association and the Cowboys Regional Rodeo Association.
CK Rodeo owner Corey Kurck told White River Now that bringing a premier rodeo event to the area had long been a goal of his.
