Clifton Morgan, 73, of Newport, passed away Friday, July 17,  at his home. He was born on September 30, 1952, in Newport, Arkansas, to Chester and Leatha (Adams) Morgan.

Clifton was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. Of the Baptist faith, he lived with quiet strength and a kind heart. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, where he found peace on the water, and took great pride in keeping his yard neat and beautiful. Whether tending to his lawn or spending time outdoors, Clifton appreciated the beauty of God’s creation and the satisfaction of a hard day’s work.

More than anything, Clifton loved his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather who treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Chester Morgan; his sisters, Dorothy Miller, Loraine Bankster, Jeanette Neldon, and Juanita Muir; and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Morgan.

Clifton leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 44 years, Joy Morgan of Newport; two daughters, Laura Ann Pry and husband, John, of Newport and Crystal Dianne Morgan of Newport; two brothers, Tommy Morgan of Tuckerman and Bobby Joe Morgan of Tuckerman; two grandchildren, Lexie May and husband, Matthew, of Bono and Jack Pry of Diaz; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Smith and Rowan May, special nephew; Thomas “Teddy” Bankster, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 21, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home.

Clifton will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love for his family, and the many memories he leaves behind.
