
Krista Lynette (Mathis) Prince, of Pleasant Plains, departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the age of 57. She was born September 19, 1968, in Newport, Arkansas, the daughter of Ronnie Mathis and Peggy (Anderson) Mathis.
Mrs. Krista married Michael Prince on February 17, 1990, and the two spent 36 wonderful years together. She worked in the office of UAMS North Central and was a pharmacy tech at Wilson Pharmacy for 17 years. She was an active member, worked in the nursery, and sang in the choir at Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Krista loved cooking for her family and made the best fried chicken. She loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, watching the Hallmark Channel, and fishing. Mrs. Krista was in the class of 1986 at Southside High School and was on the drill team. She also attended Lyon College.
Mrs. Krista is survived by her husband, Michael Prince, of the home; parents, Ronnie Mathis of South Carolina, and Peggy (Anderson) McDoniel of Batesville; three sons, Adam Prince, and wife, Courtney, of Floral; Tanner Prince, and wife, Kailey, of Greenbrier; William Chaney Prince, and girlfriend, Danica Berry, of Pleasant Plains; two brothers, Layne Mathis of Rosie; Brandon Mathis, and wife, Lori, of Batesville; three grandchildren, Layleigh Prince, Lizzy Prince, and Ledger Prince; close cousins, Cindy Wagner, Sherry Gansz, and Lisa Turner; her best friend, Lori Barton; and her puppy, Maverick.
Those honored to be pallbearers are Neal Barton, Brian Elmore, Tom Turner, River Mathis, Jeff Hagar, and Mike Hagar.
Services will take place at Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Curt Howard and Bro. Jerry Hagar officiating. Interment will be at Kyler Cemetery. Friends may visit at Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
