Augusta Aline Mittlestadt, 89, of Cole Camp, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Born on August 1, 1936, in Newport, Arkansas, Aline was the beloved daughter of Pearl and Reba Inez (King) Young. She spent her childhood in Newport, where she was well known for her beauty and vibrant personality, serving as her high school’s Homecoming Queen before graduating from Newport High School.
Aline dedicated many years to serving the students of Newport High School as a cook, where she enjoyed preparing meals and caring for those around her. She possessed a servant’s heart and expressed her love through cooking, making everyone who gathered around her table feel welcome.
She was first united in marriage to Charles E. Mittlestadt, and together they were blessed with three children: Mickey, Lisa, and Teresa. Charles preceded her in death on July 26, 2014. She later married Narvis Scott Atkins, and their union was blessed with a son, Scott Benjamin, who also preceded her in death.
Later in life, Aline moved to Cole Camp, Missouri, to be closer to her family. She became a baptized member of Grace Fellowship Church in Cole Camp, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
Aline found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends, searching for treasures while thrift shopping, and spending relaxing evenings watching classic westerns. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and faithfully cheered on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Above all, Aline treasured her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her unwavering love, gentle guidance, and caring spirit.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Mickey Mittlestadt of Cole Camp, Missouri, Lisa Mueller and husband Dave of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Teresa Kirwan and husband Johnny of St. Peters, Missouri; her brother, Dean Young and Lula B. Ivy of Newport, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Vincent, Carly, Justin, Joshua, Melinda, Samantha, Kayla, Tyler, and Kameron; twenty great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Reba Young; her first husband, Charles E. Mittlestadt; and her beloved son, Scott Atkins.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Watson Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas.
