Charles Guy Mathis, 75, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life on March 2, 2023, in Jonesboro, Arkansas at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born September 11, 1947, in Harrisburg, Arkansas the son of Arthur G. and Beulah Irene (Edwards) Mathis and they preceded him in death. Charles was also preceded by one son, Charles Brian “Woody” Mathis in August 2022, and one brother, Jimmy Gerald Mathis. He worked as Chief Engineer on River Boat. Charles enjoyed fishing, working on lawnmowers, and playing with his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Harriet (Balentine) Mathis of the home in Harrisburg, two sons: Tommy Mathis and Jason Mathis both of Harrisburg, one sister, Clyda Jenkins of Farmington, MO., 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00 A. M. until Service Time. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 A. M. with Bro. Paul Clark conducting the service. Cremation will follow the service.
