The Pioneer High School Marching Band scored in multiple categories at a recent competition with their jazz arrangement, “Moonlight Melodies.”
The band achieved an “Excellent Division” rating and secured several awards during the Mid-South Marching Classic at Jonesboro High School on Saturday, placing first in Percussion, Color Guard, and Class and second in Drum Major.
“It’s an incredible honor to work with such a dedicated group of talented musicians and performers. These awards are a testament to their hard work, passion, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of marching band. I couldn’t be prouder of them,” said Amanda Lucy, Pioneer band director.
The band’s sax trio also received attention, with their soloist performance earning them praise and recognition, the school district said in a release.
