Billy Joe West, 81 of Cord, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. He was born in Cord, Arkansas, on March 26, 1942, the youngest of five children born to Coy and Anna (Hollowell) West.
Billy Joe was in the US Army and fought bravely in the Vietnam War. He received many honors for his service and among those was the Purple Heart. Billy was a member of Cord Baptist Church in Cord, Arkansas.
Billy has left behind a legacy of family and love. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Bernice Douglas; daughter, Lisa Susann West of Batesville; son, Tim and Cristy West of Cord; grandson, Caleb Wilkerson of Batesville; granddaughters, Brittany Barnes of Jonesboro and Elizabeth Belenski; three great-grandchildren, Keiryn, Madi and Ian Belenski and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, JR West and two sisters, Vera Ann Kennedy and Dean Adams.
Memorial services will be on Sunday, January 14, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM at Cord Baptist Church in Cord, Arkansas, with Bro. Jeff Childers officiating.
