Southside Charter High School dedicated Dec. 11 to preparing its seniors for life after graduation with a day focused on career readiness and personal development.

The event began with mock interviews for 142 seniors enrolled in courses such as College Success and Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), a program sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Career Education. Over 115 business and industry partners participated in the senior interviews for potential jobs with their business.

“At Southside, we’re dedicated to preparing every student for their Future Story,” said JAG Instructor Jason Weaver. “Whether our seniors are stepping into the workforce or pursuing further education, this next chapter is significant. We’re grateful for the support of our community in helping ensure our graduates are ready to succeed in their chosen paths.”

Southside Charter High School Principal Jimmy Hodges highlighted the important input of recent graduates and local employers

“Our goal is to ensure students are prepared for what lies ahead as they navigate job applications and interviews after high school,” Hodges said. “We strive to equip them for success and give them a strong foundation as they embark on their Future Story.”

In addition to the mock interview process, the Southside Charter High School freshman, sophomores and juniors had the opportunity to listen to Future Story Speakers from around the state of Arkansas. These guest speakers included Tyler Tarver, Shad Pearce, Richard Ward, Tyler Sandlin, Amy Foree, Jeremy Cox and Brody Clark.
