Obituary: Lena Pearl Scribner

Lena Pearl Scribner, born January 6, 1934, went to be with Jesus April 19, 2025, at the age of 91.  She was a resident of Sulphur Rock, Arkansas.  She was first and foremost a child of the king, a member of Second Chance Church, a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved reading her Bible, working in the yard, walking to church and sitting on the porch.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arvel Scribner; daughter, Sharon Scribner Martin; son James Lawrence Scribner; grandson, Jon Martin; and grandson-in-law, Joddie Shutt.

She is survived by two daughters, Caren Hutchison (Neal) of Newark and Kathy Brooks of Sulphur Rock, five grandchildren, Jeff Hutchison (Renee), Kim Poole, Kayla Dabbs (Joseph), Kortney Shutt, and Ryan Ferris (Chris), fourteen great grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Hutchison, Dustin Hutchison, Shane Cox, Bryceton Church, Samuel Shutt, Joddie Shutt Jr. and Jr. McGee.

Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mack’s Chapel Cemetery on April 22, 2025, with Reverand Kayla Dabbs officiating.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Caring Hands Hospice for loving and taking care of our Momma and Nannie.  We would not have been able to navigate these past months without y’all.
