Joyce Daisy Goodwin, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 11, 2025. She was born on May 12, 1947, in Bono, AR, to the late William Wilson and Myrtle (Purnell) Wilson. Joyce loved the Lord first and foremost and was a member of the Cushman Assembly of God. She loved going to church and enjoyed her Bible study she had every morning. She loved her husband so much and was the perfect wife and friend to him. You would never see one without the other. She also loved her family, whom she affectionately referred to as her “babies”, and enjoyed spoiling them. She also enjoyed flowers, puzzles, and riding gravel roads with cokes and peanuts with her husband. She was the best homemaker and loved everyone she met. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all those blessed to know her.
Joyce is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, John C. Goodwin Sr.; sons, John C. Goodwin Jr. (Caroline) and Joshua G. Goodwin (Latrisha); daughter-in-law, Jaelyn Goodwin; grandchildren, Felicia Holt (Alex), Gwendolyn Goodwin, Owen Goodwin, Gage Goodwin, and Zoey Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Mathew Holt and Clayton Holt; brothers, Leon Wilson (Bobbie) and Robert Wilson; and sister, Linda Dacus (Gene). She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Daniel Goodwin, and sisters, Shirley McCarty and Roberta Harrison.
There will be a visitation held at Willis Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5 PM until 7 PM. The funeral service, officiated by Brother Carl Blankenship and Brother Kenith Vest, will begin at 2 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Cushman Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman, AR.
