
Tyrel Jay “T.J.” Lindsey, 47, of Newport, passed from this life on May 14, 2025, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born July 19, 1977, to William Michael and Barbara Elaine (King) Lindsey.
T.J. was a man of quiet strength, known for his big heart and gentle spirit. He was of the Christian faith and had recently accepted Christ as his savior, a decision that brought him peace and purpose in his final days.
T.J. had a love for the open road and found fulfillment behind the wheel of a big truck. He worked as a driver for Diaz Scrap Metal, where he wasn’t just an employee, but was treated like family. His coworkers admired his reliability, kindness, and the pride he took in his work.
Outside of work, T.J. loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a calm, down-to-earth nature that made him easy to be around.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents.
T.J. is survived by his sister, Sonya Caivano and husband John of El Paso, Texas; his brother, William Michael Lindsey Jr. and his nephews, Cody Lindsey, Nicholas Lindsey and Joseph Glascock Jr. all of El Paso, Texas. Though his time was cut short, T.J. will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel
