
Dorothy Jean (Reed) Weeks, 92, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Elizabeth’s Place in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Jean was born December 4, 1932 in Brinkley, Arkansas, the daughter of William B. and Cora (Johnson) Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jean married Herman Lee Weeks on November 21, 1957 and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2004. She was also preceded in death by: one son, Ricky Weeks, a Son-in-law, Ollie Costner, and three brothers: Jimmy, Glen, and Phil Reed. She has been a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg for 42 Years and truly enjoyed being in the Helen Foust Sunday School Class. Jean finished school in Brinkley, Arkansas and attended Business School in Memphis. She was a member of Lucky 13 EHC for almost 50 years, also a member of ‶Gals″ (Guarding Angels Ladies Serving), ‶BPW″ (Business of Profession Women Association). Jean enjoyed several things throughout her life: crafts, sewing, fishing, baking, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. Jean served 30 years on the Poinsett County Fair Board. She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Costner of Harrisburg, one brother, Bill Reed also of Harrisburg, three sisters: Thelma Grubbs of Marion, Liz Stacy of the Central Community Harrisburg, and Annette Maughan of Reform, Alabama, four grandchildren; Tabitha Greenway, Stacy Weeks, Sarah Weeks, Jonathan Weeks, 7 great-grandchildren: River Bryant, Jax Mross, Makayla Cutlip, Allison Owens, Amber Greenway, Nate Weeks, and Liam Bryant, and 4 great-great-grandchildren: Caden Drum, Addi Owens, Hudson Owens, and Dawson Owens. Visitation will be June 3, 2025, at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg from 12:00 noon until Service Time. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel with Pastor B. J. Chatman conducting the service. Interment will be in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
