Rachel Mosier has been appointed assistant principal of West Elementary School, according to a release from the Batesville School District.

A lifelong resident of Batesville, the release noted that Mosier brings more than two decades of experience in education, with most of her career spent in the local district.

Mosier is a National Board Certified teacher, a credential that reflects her commitment to professional growth and excellence in the classroom, the release said. She has served 23 years in education and has developed strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues throughout the community.

“Rachel’s background as a longtime classroom teacher means she knows firsthand what our educators need to feel supported,” Superintendent Ken James said. “She’s already built strong relationships with many of our families and staff, and I’m confident she’ll continue to strengthen that foundation in this new role.”

Mosier and her husband of 21 years have three daughters and are grandparents to a 5-month-old grandchild.

“I believe in encouraging teachers to embrace the mighty purpose of being an educator,” Mosier said. “It’s not about raising test scores. It’s about raising human potential.”
