Obituary: Ray Leon Watson

Leon Watson, 92, of Batesville, AR, passed away on June 5, 2025, at White River Medical Center. Leon was born on November 22, 1932, in Lawrence County, Arkansas to the late William and Etta (Whitmire) Watson.

Leon loved God and his family! He loved the outdoors, hunting when he was younger and watching the birds and squirrels from his front porch in his later years. His warm and loving personality left a lasting impression on everyone that met him. He took every opportunity to share his wisdom and knowledge from his years of bible studies. Leon was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Watson and his son Delbert Watson.  Leon was survived by his two daughters Cindy Joiner (Joe) and Susan Joplin (Jay), six grandchildren Lindsay Coe, Blake Coe, Leslie Moody (Dustin), Jeremy Joplin (Danica), Rachael Watson, Joel Watson (Andrea), and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. The funeral service, officiated by Bro. Bobby Sanders, will take place Monday, June 9, 2025,  and will be a graveside service at 10 AM at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Joplin, Jayson Joplin, Jaycob Joplin, Dustin Moody, Adrian Finney, and John Britt.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to Legacy Hospice and to White River Medical Center.
