Margaret Irene (Helton) Kinney, 101, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg, Arkansas.
Margaret was born May 11, 1924, in Athens, Alabama, the daughter of Benjamin ‶Bennie″ David and Gladys Pearl (Deemer) Helton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters: Elizabeth Campbell, Sarah Miller and Jeanette Gilham.
Margaret married Gladis Louis Kinney on August 20, 1944, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage before his passing.
Margaret worked in the Cafeteria at Harrisburg School for several years. She worked several years at Slant & Slant in Marked Tree, and then worked and retired from Johansen Shoe Mfg. Company in Harrisburg. Margaret was an avid quilter, enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn and husband, Larry Scott of Harrisburg, one brother, George David and wife Cheri Helton of Nevada, three sisters: Louise Grant of Missouri, Betty Campbell of Tennessee, Magaline Thompson of Indiana, two Grandchildren: Michele (Marty) Cole and Robbie (Valerie) Scott all of Harrisburg, 7 great-grands, and 4 great-great-grand.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30 until service time. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P. M. with Mr. Brock Kendall, Pastor of Harrisburg Church of Chris,t conducting the service. Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
