Searcy-based Harding University reported a sharp increase in student enrollment this fall, adding 1,111 new undergraduate students, an 11.2% jump from last year.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the school said full-time graduate enrollment also rose, bringing the university’s total enrollment to 4,802 students from 46 states and 64 countries.
The university also posted an 85.3% retention rate, which officials said reflects strong student satisfaction. Graduation rates at Harding remain well above the national average.
“At Harding University, we’re committed to providing a transformative collegiate experience for all students where they can succeed academically, relationally, and spiritually,” President Mike Williams said. “Our continued enrollment growth and record-high graduation rates are a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. As we welcome our students for the new academic year, we remain focused on our mission to provide a Christ-centered education that equips students to make a significant difference in the lives of others.”
The private university, founded in 1924, is entering its second century with a focus on service, faith, and academic excellence.
