Obituary:  Faye Ryan

Faye Ryan of Pennington, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 79. She was born May 29, 1946, in Doniphan, Missouri, the daughter of Oliver and Eva (Malone) Hill.

Faye dedicated many years to cleaning offices and homes in and around Jonesboro. She had a passion for making quilts, spending countless hours quilting while listening to audiobooks. Faye enjoyed hunting with her family and visiting yard sales. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Eva (Malone) Hill; two sisters, Gay Hill and Janice Brown; and two brothers, Eugene Hill and Charles Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leo Ryan of the home; her two sons, of whom she was so proud, Douglas Ryan of Pennington, Arkansas, and Stephen Ryan and wife, Sherri, of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Danin Ryan, Collin Ryan, and Cassidy Ryan, two great-grandchildren, Ashtynn Ryan and Carter Ryan, who affectionately called her “Nanny”.

Also surviving are one brother, George Hill, and wife, Sharon; one sister, Ava Jane Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

Funeral services are on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Balch-Johnston Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Dale Davis, Scott Balch, Dylon Harrington, Earl Bryant, Mickey Carlew, and Jerry Brown. Tony Pulliam, a lifelong family friend, will officiate the service.
