Obituary: Walker Louis Henderson

Walker Louis Henderson of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on April 23, 1942.

Mr. Henderson was the owner and operator of Walker Henderson Farms until his retirement in 2014. Farming was not just his career, but his passion, and he truly loved working on his farm. Mr. Henderson dedicated many years to his hard work and caring for the land. Mr. Henderson was an active member of the Amagon Church of Christ.

Mr. Henderson enjoyed playing the guitar, tending to his garden, and woodworking. He also had a well-known fondness for cake. Mr. Henderson’s greatest joy in life was taking care of his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Henderson is preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Veriece Chestene (Wymer) Henderson; a son, Michael Louis Henderson; a grandson, Tony Henderson; one sister, Marcella Overfield; and a brother, Huey Charles Henderson.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Pillow and husband, Chris, of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Ricky Henderson of Midway, Kevin Henderson and wife, Samantha, of Tuckerman, Misty Henderson of Texarkana, Carly Bradley Hare and husband Chris, of Weiner, and Chandly Bradley Turner and husband, Hunter, of Weiner; and ten great-grandchildren, Conner, Taylor, Kenley, Lexi, Jacob, Chase, Casen, Noah, Bentley, Stetson, and one on the way, Bradley Dale. Also surviving Mr. Henderson is his sister, Linda Henderson, of Hot Springs; his longtime companion, Linda Neal, of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Graveside services for Mr. Henderson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2025, at Balch-Johnston Cemetery, with Bro. Carl Neal officiating. Friends may visit at Jackson’s Funeral Home on Monday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ricky Henderson, Kevin Henderson, Conner Henderson, Roger Bradley, Justin Earls, and Chris Pillow. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Lishman, Case Lishman, and Casen Lishman.
