Obituary: Bobby Joe Milligan

Bobby Joe Milligan of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on September 15, 1950, the son of Billy Joe Milligan.

Mr. Milligan was a 1968 graduate of Tuckerman High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from November 1969 until his retirement in December 1990. During his twenty-one years of honorable service, he served in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Milligan was of the Baptist belief.

Mr. Milligan married the love of his life, Miss Mitzi Stoner, on September 22, 1972, and together they have built a wonderful life. Mr. Milligan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved woodworking and watching westerns. Mr. Milligan’s greatest joy was time spent at the cabin in Heber Springs.

Mr. Milligan is preceded in death by one brother, Geary Milligan; a sister, Wilma June Milligan; his father, Billy Joe Milligan; and his grandparents, who raised him, Dolph and Sally Chism.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Mitzi (Stoner) Milligan, of the home; a son, Jason K. Milligan, of Jacksonville; two brothers, Larry Milligan and wife, Nancy, of Temple, Texas, and Doug Milligan and wife, Sheree, of Conway; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Jackson’s Funeral Home on Sunday, October 19, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in Gracelawn Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Rick Roedel, Ricky Clyde Jones, Charlie Ballard, Jonathan Tubbs, Rick Green, and Logan Green. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Martin and Doyle Riley.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a memorial be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
