The Batesville Area Arts Council is highlighting both minimalism and cultural expression in its latest exhibitions, Echoes Beneath by Ally Cantrell and Kicks and Culture by Aneesah Rahmaan, on display through Nov. 21.
Cantrell’s Echoes Beneath, shown in the BAAC Gallery on Main at 226 E. Main St., features muted palettes and layered textures that explore balance between restraint and release. Her abstract works invite viewers to connect through touch and subtle emotion.

In the BAAC Community Gallery, Rahmaan’s Kicks and Culture celebrates the ties between sneakers and African American culture, blending art and identity through vivid visual storytelling.
A joint reception for both artists will be held Friday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., with brief artist talks beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
