
Sharon Ann (Sutterfield) Avey, 85, of Timbo, Arkansas, passed away on October 27, 2025, at Stone County Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 27, 1940, in Big Flat, Arkansas, to Lonnie Franklin and Fannie Angelea (Smith) Sutterfield.
As a teenager, Sharon accepted Christ as her Savior at a youth revival at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. She was later baptized by Brother Thurman Gower and joined Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
On June 4, 1956, she married Junior Avey, and together they had five children: Tony, Kevin, Greg, Shirley, and Sondra. More than anything, Sharon loved her family with all her heart. She leaves behind a legacy filled with love and beautiful memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Fannie Sutterfield; two brothers, James and Beemer Sutterfield; her sister, Bennie Rae; her loving husband, Junior Avey; her son, Kevin Avey; her granddaughter, Brandy Patrick; and her great-grandson, Ky Bradford.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tony Avey, Greg Avey, Shirley Patrick, and Sondra Roper; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Big Springs Missionary Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Brothers Johnny Williams, Gary Ragland, and Junior Barham will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Big Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jake Patrick, Josh Greer, Bradley Cates, Hayden Callahan, Kaleb Patrick, and Riley Callahan.
Honorary pallbearers are Jayce Patrick, Peyton Callahan, Brayden Clark, Emmett Halsted, Kevin Thomas, Owen Schaeffer, Austin Schaeffer, Jaxon Schaeffer, Chase Greer, Rayne Greer, Kenson Cates, Kolsten Cates, Logan Robertson, Tucker Robertson, and Spencer Callahan.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Service.
